Men singing the language of birds

A great choir within the universe, birds are the muse of composers. They have inspired the greatest musicians over the centuries: Couperin, Daquin, Rameau, Mozart, Beethoven, Schumann, Saint-Saëns, Dvorak, Poulenc and of course Messiaen. The birds evoke the vitality of nature through the variety of their song and symbolise the whole range of human emotions and feelings: love and loyalty, humility and power, familiarity and mystery, the quest for transcendence.

“Much more than simple bird imitators, Johnny Rasse and Jean Boucault sublimate the raw material of bird song into a true living art form.” France Musique
