In her fourth album Mama Forgot Her Name Was Miracle (2022), Mélissa Laveaux puts her activist poetry and folk-punk groove at the service of atypical pop. As an archivist of feminist and social struggles, Mélissa Laveaux calls upon a community of heroines whom history has forgotten or deliberately sidelined. She explores the therapeutic and spiritual dimension of music by revisiting an ancestral form: the lullaby, where she summons powerful voices from beyond time to create a new subversive mythology.
