The Sunday Morning Concerts open with a quintet bringing together Elisabeth Leonskaja, Yann Dubost — principal double bass of the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France — and the Danel Quartet, performing in the Théâtre du Châtelet’s Grand Hall. Franz Schubert features on the programme for this first concert, with one of the most celebrated quintets in the repertoire: The Trout. The work embodies the vital energy of nature, a constant source of inspiration for the composer, and it is around this theme that the concert is structured, following a simple format: 15 minutes of readings and 45 minutes of music.

Golshifteh Farahani — actress and music lover — lends her voice to the poets Novalis, Heinrich von Kleist, Rûmî and Rainer Maria Rilke, whose texts, celebrating the power and mystery of nature, enrich and illuminate the score of the great master of German Romantic music.
