Sharing a time of reading, discovery, and music with an orchestra of young musicians is one of the most beautiful things there is.

Amandine Beyer

The French Youth Orchestra currently trains artists aged 16 to 25 who, in the future, will pursue careers as orchestral musicians in France and around the world. Based in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté this season, the musicians are in residence at the Saline royale of Arc-et-Senans for a “classical” session: the orchestra, in Mozart formation –meaning an ensemble of around forty musicians– works with specialists of 18th-century repertoire. For this residency’s final performance, the French Youth Orchestra will give its very first Paris concert at the Châtelet, conducted by violinist and conductor Amandine Beyer, who will lead the musicians from the violin section! The program includes a symphony by Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach and a dialogue between two major works of the Austrian Classical repertoire: Joseph Haydn’s so-called “Timpani Roll” Symphony and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante, which will be performed by two young soloists from the orchestra.
