Annie & The Caldwells
Annie Brown Caldwell rose to fame with the Staples Jr. Singers, a group in which she sang alongside her brothers, spreading the gospel. Today, this incredibly charismatic matriarch leads the band she formed in the 1970s with her husband when they wanted to save their daughter from the temptations of secular music, namely the blues. After many years of playing in churches, in 2025 the family signed with David Byrne’s label Luaka Bop for the excellent “Can’t Lose My (Soul)”. While the exclusively religious message remains the same, the musical direction has changed, perhaps under the influence of a new generation. Instead of the sober Racinian gospel that marked the original group’s recordings, this new project is characterized by a sound steeped in soul and funk influences, with an intensity worthy of the great blues records.
Isaiah Collier Plays Coltrane
Isaiah Collier’s music is an explosive alchemy of funk, spiritual jazz, and soul. To mark the centenary of John Coltrane’s birth, the young saxophone prodigy has surrounded himself with exceptional musicians to pay tribute to him. They will revisit his repertoire and celebrate together the visionary power of this jazz giant. This show is a co-production with Le Volcan (Le Havre), La MC2 (Grenoble), La Filature (Mulhouse), and Le Quartz (Brest).
JAM SESSIONS
After the concerts, the Châtelet will exceptionally open the doors of its sumptuous Nijinsky Foyer to the public, which will be transformed into a jazz club for the occasion… so the party continues every evening with a wild jam session! At the helm is piano maestro and pillar of the Rue des Lombards, Fred Nardin!
