Urban Châtelet

Book

Track consists of little trains, connected objects, and a human beatbox! Behind this expression is a voice and an actor who becomes something of a magician when he starts composing music with his mouth. Laurent Duprat, alias L.O.S., imitates, makes noises, and sings. Then he loops all these rhythms and sounds, which he places in small carriages pulled by locomotives. And sound trains run on several rail networks of different scales, forming a giant circuit. The sounds produced by the musician are then mixed with those of the train: switches, rails, axles, and signals generate their own music, both mechanical and concrete. Directed by Céline Garnavault and supervised by the fabulous mechanics of La Boîte à sel, Track is much more than a metaphor for travel: it is both an immersion in a sound universe made up of trip-hop and electro “hip-pop” – and a poetic escape accessible to children from the age of three, and their parents, of course!
